APN Research Study-Invitation To Participate
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice student from Maryville University of St. Louis. As part of my required course work I will be conducting a research study. This email is being sent with the hopes that you may pass the study information along to those you know that may be interested.
The study seeks to gather information from states that have successfully obtained legislation to allow Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) to practice to the fullest extent of their education and training without physician oversight. The study is qualitative and historical with participant data to be gathered by semi-structured interview. The goal of this study is to gather information related to the barriers and successful strategies used to overcome those barriers related to full scope of practice legislation reform. It is the hope that this research may provide much needed data that can be used by other states to secure full scope of practice legislation for APNs.
Ideal study participants are those individuals who had a first-hand active role in their state’s APN full scope of practice legislation reform efforts. These individuals may likely be current or former nurse executives / committee members in your state’s nursing organizations.
Institutional Review Board will be obtained through Maryville University of St. Louis prior to the start of the study. This email is for informational purposes only. Formal invitations to participate in the study will be sent after IRB approval.
If you or someone you know would like more information related to this research, please contact myself or my research chair using the information listed below.
