Introducing President Elect Candidate Shirelle Claggett, DNP WHNP-BC

I’m Shirelle Claggett, ,DNP, WHNP-BC. I am working full time in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Permanente.

I completed my BSN in 2003 at Regis University, my MSN in 2011 at The University of Colorado, and my DNP in 2017 at The University of Northern Colorado.

I am married with 2 daughters, ages 14 and 11.

I have now been in practice as an NP for almost 7 years, and have been through some of the biggest health care changes that have occurred in the U.S. over these past years, including the Affordable Care Act. As a young NP, I thrive on change, and hope to become the president of Sig 30 to help lead a strong group who has a great impact on healthcare, and contribute to effective change, offer valuable input, and support the profession as well as the communities in which we serve.

After attending the SIG 30 meetings, and meeting several of the members, I am excited about the opportunity to represent this group of hardworking, caring nurse practitioners, and our efforts to make changes and better our workforce.
